Ever since I saw these guys play live a few years back I've been interested in finding their material and I've grown quite a fondness for this band. This is a re-release from Metal Minds and it contains music from And The Forests Dream Eternally, Sventevith (Storming Near The Baltic, Grom, Bewitching The Pomerania, and four covers and demo tracks that were unreleased. All of this is on two CDs in a really nifty CD package. Definitely a treat for any metal fan who just recently discovered this band or likes to collect cool packages like this. This is a remastered package but there's still some originality. On the first CD the production is pretty damn raw but Nergal has a real vocal presence and you get the essence of the early Behemoth. The second CD has better production and stronger material as well as some female vocals here and there. Although Behemoth are now more of a death metal band than black metal, this was how the band sounded in its early black metal days and it's definitely worth exploring. Their present day sound is described as blackened death metal as there is still a good influence of black metal there and they do wear corpse paint at times. All in all a very cool package to have.
